Posted by : admin | On : July 10, 2011

Start a porn web siteYou want to start a porn site? I want to start a porn site!

So you love porn and want to have a go at making a living from it. In my opinion the easiest way to break into the porn industry is with a porn web site. Let’s talk about how we can start a porn website!

Some people start with a name, some people start by deciding on a particular category or niche that they want to specialize in. Some people don’t know where to start.

A porn site is no different than any other project. If you want to be successful you should start with a plan. A good way to begin any plan is to start with a bit of a brainstorming session. Use the following list as a worksheet to get some ideas about the direction that you’d like to see your porn site go in.

Download the PDF version of this brainstorming worksheet here

  1. What type of content are you going to include on your website?
    1. Will your website show videos, images, or all of the above?
    2. Will you specialize in a particular category of porn (anal, teen, etc)
  2. Do you want to offer content for free or do you want only members to see it
    1. Will there be a membership fee? If so how much?
  3. Are you going to create your own content use a provider?
  4. What do you want to call your website?
  5. What will make your adult website better than the next?
    1. How are you planning to keep users looking at your content the longest.
  6. How will you make money from your new pornsite?
  7. What kind of budget do I have to get this thing started?
    1. Yes, you do need some money (not very much) to get a porn site started.

I will help you find the answers to these questions in the articles to come, but sit down and try to answer them your self as an initial step. This will help to get you thinking about this.

Building a successful porn site isn’t done by flicking a switch. You have to treat it as a real start up business. Haha, who am I kidding. A porn site should work for you like a business, but it’s porn. It should also be a lot of fun. That’s why you want to start a porn site in the first place right? However you treat it, make wise, well-informed decisions in the beginning and you will see better results down the road!

You should probably choose a category of porn site that will hold content that you like to watch. It’s important to see things from the visitors point of view and this will help you keep that perspective. Choose some porn subjects that you like the most, then do some searching on the web. Look for other porn websites that look like they get a lot of traffic AND checking to see if there might be a large amount of competition in any given category.

Can I take Pictures from other web sites legally to post on My web site?. And how can you tell if women are of legal age?.

It’s not legal to post pictures on your website unless you have permission to use them. Working with affiliates you can get permission to use their pictures.

i want to start a porn site and be able to shoot my own videos which will mean hiring actors etc. whats the legal requirements? (licences, etc)

    • admin said on 29-08-2014

Depending on where you are in the world there are different legal requirements for shooting porn videos. I know that at the very least there are safe workplace practices and there is a strict requirement to keep records on the age of your actors called 18 U.S.C. 2257 Record Keeping Requirement. To be safe you should check with a local lawyer before shooting your first scene.
